The Rules: No if’s and’s or but’s (PLEASE READ ALL!) MUST BE 18 YEARS OR OLDER TO ENTER . Entrant’s campaign submission designates his or her full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these rules and the decision of Apogee Search. The Apogee Search “Market it Yourself” Scholarship Program (“Program”) begins at 12:01 am CST on February 1, 2008, and ends at 11:59pm CST on June 1, 2008. No entries received after 11:59 pm CST on June 1, 2008 will be considered, unless the closing date is extended as provided in the "How to Enter" section. This Scholarship is sponsored and run by Apogee Search a division of Leads Customer Growth (LCG), 4412 Spicewood Springs Rd, Building 600, Austin TX, 78759. (2)How to Enter: Entrants are asked to: Create a social media campaign for a generic product using at least four out of 10 listed social media websites, and one of their discretion, for a total of at least five sites. In addition, entrants must explain their campaign via Product Outline. Suggestions as to how to approach this topic include, but are not limited to: Creating video commercials to be posted on video sharing websites, designing an evolving profile of the product to befriend associates and acquaintances on social networking sites, blogging about this fictitious product/campaign, posting photos or pieces of art involving your product on a photo sharing website. Only one campaign may be submitted per entrant. Campaigns may not use less than five, or more than 10 social media websites. Submit all used website url’s, Product Outlines, and resumes electronically in a Microsoft Word or Rich Text Format document to scholarship@apogee-search.com. Apogee Search will not return campaigns or any additional materials that might be submitted by entrants. Entrants must submit an attachment of their resume that includes e-mail address, current physical address, phone number, student ID number, major and expected graduation date along with the required campaign by June 1, 2008. To be eligible, all application materials must be received by email to scholarship@apogee-search.com by 11:59 pm CST on June 1, 2008. Entrant must be the sole creator of the entry. Use of images and works in the public domain may be incorporated into entries as noted sources. However, materials that violate the copyrights of any third party may not be used. Apogee Search is not responsible for late, lost, spam-filtered, stolen, delayed, damaged, misdirected, incomplete entries. Incomplete entries are considered void. All submissions become property of Apogee Search and may be reused in whole or in part by its sole discretion. (3) Social Media Sites: At least four, but no more than 10 of the following websites may be used:
Parody : A humorous or satirical imitation of a serious piece of literature or writing. For example a video containing two people engaged in a light-saber-like duel using yardsticks, as an older withered-looking relative cloaked in a black bathrobe watches, will be accepted. However a video containing black silhouettes dancing to a U2 song while wearing white dangly wires in front of a green backdrop will be disqualified. Please use common sense when creating the content. Apogee Search reserves the right to disqualify any entry whose content is, in the judge’s discretion: inappropriate, offensive, or demeaning to Apogee Search’s reputation or goodwill. (7) Product Outline: All entries MUST INCLUDE a Product Outline that thoroughly, and fully explains the decisions made throughout the course of their social media campaign. The use of, or plagiarism from pre-existing commercial or licensed Product Outlines or Creative Briefs MAY NOT be used. Product Outlines can be downloaded here. (8) Prize : One (1) scholarship winner will be chosen to win a one-time award of $1,000 towards tuition reimbursement. This reimbursement will be mailed directly to the college or university and will be credited to the winner's tuition. The winner's name will be posted at the apogee-search.com site. Odds of winning depend upon the number of entries received. Scholarship is nontransferable. (9) Winner: The winner will be selected by the beginning of July. A panel of professional search engine marketing specialists will serve as judges and will evaluate all eligible entries based on the following criteria: Scoring will be based on a fifty (50) point scale: Ten (10) point maximum for creativity/originality in addressing the campaign, ten (10) point maximum for the most practical use of social media sites in correlation with the product, ten (10) point maximum for a clear and consistent branding campaign, ten (10) point maximum for clarity and consistency of the product’s message, and a ten (10) point maximum for a completed, and well formulated Product Outline. In the event of a tie, the winner will be chosen based on the objective opinion of the judges regarding which entry provides the best and most theoretically sound marketing campaign given actual business practices and current social media trends. Apogee Search reserves the right to disqualify any entry which is, in the judge’s discretion: inappropriate, offensive, or demeaning to Apogee Search’s reputation or goodwill. The winner will be notified by either e-mail or phone by the beginning of July and shall be required to complete an affirmation of eligibility/liability which must be signed and returned so that it is received within 10 days of the date printed on the award notification, or the next highest score entrant will be awarded the respective scholarship. The winner must provide proof of identity. Failure to comply may result in forfeiture of all rights to the scholarship. The name of the winner will be posted on July 31, 2008 at http://scholarship.apogee-search.com/. Apogee Search is not responsible for and shall not be liable for late, lost, misdirected, or unsuccessful efforts to notify winners. If award e-mail is returned as undeliverable, scholarship may be forfeited and an alternate winner will be awarded. Accepting and/or using scholarship signifies the authorization of Apogee Search (except where prohibited by law) to use the winner's name and essay content, for promotional, commercial, and publicity purposes without further compensation. (10) Terms & Conditions: By participating, entrants agree that Apogee Search is not responsible or liable for, and shall be pardoned from: I. telephone, electronic, hardware or software program, network, Internet, or computer malfunctions, failures, or difficulties of any kind; II. Any condition caused by natural events beyond the control of Apogee Search that may cause the Program to be disrupted or corrupted; III. Any printing or typographical errors in any materials associated with the Program; IV. Apogee Search reserves the right to suspend or cancel Program at any time if a computer virus, bug, or other technical problem corrupts the administration, security, or proper conduct of the Program. V. Apogee Search does not provide your e-mail address or any other personal information to third parties. Personal information is used for internal purposes only, to verify college enrollment, and where appropriate, to contact you directly. |
