Paid Search Analyst

The Paid Search Analyst is responsible for managing the paid search campaigns for a diverse group of clients spanning multiple industries. Frequent client contact is common, so excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to translate complex data into actionable intelligence are critical. Analysts will need to perform quantitative analysis to understand campaign performance and to think creatively to improve that performance. The nature of the Paid Search team is collaborative. Each specialist works as part of an account team responsible for specific clients. In addition, they will be working as part of a team responsible for a portfolio of accounts.

Successful analysts have a unique blend of marketing savvy, excellent verbal and written communication skills, analytical ability, and research skills. Polymaths are what we seek.

This is an entry level position in a new industry, so training will be provided. While this job is focused at online media, this is a marketing role, not a technical role. Knowledge of Web development and programming is helpful, but as long as you use the search engines, portals and social media (Facebook, blogging, del.icio.us, Digg, etc) you have the basic "technical" skills you need.

Primary Duties include:

  • Daily management of accounts
  • Face to face, phone, email, and web conferences with clients
  • Defining realistic goals for clients' search advertising campaigns
  • Collaboration with account managers to create plans to meet clients' goals
  • Researching clients, their competitors and their industry
  • Identifying and testing target keywords
  • Writing ad copy
  • Defining and optimizing ad bids levels, managing campaign budgets

Qualifications:

  • College education (Plan II, Advertising, iSchool, Economics, Math, Communications, Business preferred)
  • Passionate about online marketing - experience with online or off-line advertising/commerce preferred
  • Ability to be creative and imaginative
  • Analytical thinking capabilities
  • Detail-oriented personalities
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Professional attitude and demeanor
  • 1-2 years internship or work experience (does not need to be in natural search or marketing)
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel a plus, but not required
  • HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and/or PHP knowledge a plus, but not required
  • Desire to be on part of a team that sets the bar for excellence in its industry
