Online Tracking Specialist

Apogee Search, the fastest growing search engine marketing agency in the Southwest, has an immediate opening for an entry level Online Tracking Specialist.

The Online Tracking Specialist is responsible for implementing tracking codes on clients' web sites and integrating clients' sites with lead management and sales force automation systems.

This role requires the Tracking Specialist to be a web technology generalist. Yes, we recognize the contradiction in that. The Tracking specialist will need to quickly learn the structure of and technology behind clients' web sites and then implement tracking solutions. This is not a computer engineering or programming role. You will not be building applications or Web sites. You will be creating and applying the glue that ties things together.

Because the technology used by clients varies so heavily, the Online Tracking Specialists will need to have (or be able to quickly acquire) a broad knowledge of common scripting languages, mark-up standard, databases, and web servers. Examples of relevant technology skills desired include: HTML/CSS, JavaScript, PHP, Perl, ASP.NET, SQL, Apache, IIS. These technologies will be used to capture data from the client and pass it to the web analytics, ecommerce, lead management, and sales force automation systems used by our clients.

Tracking systems used by Apogee's clients include Google Analytics, Omniture, Coremetrics, HitsLink, and WebTrends. Lead Management and sales force automation systems include Eloqua, Vtrenz, and Salesforce.com.

Sound interesting, but not sure what all of this means or how to do any of this? That is OK.

This is an entry level position in a new, emerging industry, so training will be provided.

Primary Duties include:

  • Troubleshooting of clients' tracking solutions
  • Defining requirements for tracking and lead collection
  • Implementing tracking codes on clients' sites through client-side and server-side scripting solutions
  • Phone, email, web conferences, and face to face meetings with clients
  • Collaboration with account managers to create plans to meet clients' goals

Qualifications:

  • College education (Plan II, Advertising, iSchool, Economics, Math, Communications, Business preferred)
  • Passionate about web technology and interested in online marketing
  • Ability to be creative and imaginative
  • Analytical thinking capabilities
  • Detail-oriented personalities
  • Professional attitude and demeanor
  • 1-2 years internship or work experience (does not need to be in natural search or marketing)
  • Knowledge of some or all of the following required: HTML/CSS, JavaScript, PHP, Perl, ASP.NET, SQL, Apache, IIS, Google Analytics, Omniture, Coremetrics, HitsLink, WebTrends, Eloqua, Vtrenz, and Salesforce.com.
  • Desire to be on part of a team that sets the bar for excellence in its industry

To apply for this position, submit your resume to hiring@apogee-search.com with "Online Tracking Specialist" in the subject line. We are a 21st century company, focused on the digital frontier, so no phone calls please.
